Компания Sharp готовится выйти на новый для себя рынок серверов под брендом Dynabook. Права на эту торговую марку вендор получил в результате покупки компьютерного подразделения компании Toshiba. На мировом рынке также известна своими телевизорами, магнитолами, DVD-плеерами и другой электроникой, в том числе и Android-смартфонами.

Все серверы и заодно настольные и мобильные ПК Dynabook компания Sharp планирует реализовывать на мировом рынке за исключением Японии. Об этом в интервью изданию Channel Partner Insight сообщил глава представительства Dynabook в Северной Европе Ник Оффин (Nick Offin).

Сроки выхода Dynabook на глобальный рынок серверов Ник Оффин не назвал, но, по данным Channel Partner Insight, компания сделает этот шаг до конца 2019 г. При этом Sharp не планирует уходить из сегмента компьютеров, основного для себя. Напротив, она намерена продолжить его развитие и сосредоточиться в частности, на образовательном секторе. По словам Оффина, Dynabook собирается закрепиться в нем, в том числе и потому, что там у Toshiba была хорошая клиентская база.

История Dynabook

Развитие Dynabook как отдельного бренда началось летом 2018 г. В первых числах июня 2018 г. Toshiba сообщила о достижении договоренности с Sharp по продаже своего компьютерного бизнеса.

Производитель магнитофонов переключился к серверам

По условиям договора Sharp получили 80,1-процентную долю подразделения Toshiba Client Solutions, деятельность которого напрямую связана с производством и продажей потребительской компьютерной техники. Сумма сделки составила 4 млрд иен или порядка $37 млн, а сама сделка была закрыта 1 октября 2018 г.

В апреле 2019 г. новый владелец Toshiba Client Solutions сообщил о переименовании подразделения. В качестве нового названия была выбрана торговая марка Dynabook, которую Toshiba продвигала и развивала преимущественно в Японии, уделяя рынкам других стран мало внимания. К ключевым причинам стремительного снижения активности в серверном секторе эксперты IDC отнесли в первую очередь экономическую нестабильность и затишье на рынке систем с альтернативными (не x86) платформами. Также были упомянуты сокращение закупок для облаков и корпоративных систем.

Наибольший обвал на серверном рынке (20,8% до уровня $1,3 млрд) наблюдался в секторе высокопроизводительных систем. Меньше всего выручка сократилась в сегменте серверных систем среднего класса – снижение составило 4,6%, в денежном выражении равно $2,4 млрд. Сегмент массовых серверов за отчетный период сократился на 11,7% по сравнению с аналогичным периодом 2018 г. и составил $16,3 млрд.

Потенциальные конкуренты Dynabook

По итогам II квартала 2019 г. на рынке серверов образовалась пятерка лидеров по объемам выручки, состоящая исключительно из американских и китайских корпораций. Основными конкурентами Dynabook в новом для нее сегменте станут Dell (доля рынка 19%), совместное предприятие HPE и New h4C Group (18%), китайские Inspur (7,2%) и Lenovo (6,1%), а также IBM (5,9%). В штучном выражении итоги другие – в тройку лидеров вошли Dell (17,8%), HPE/New h4C Group (16,3%) и Inspur (8,7%), а следом за ними идут Lenovo (6,7%) и Super Micro (5,2%). На рынке существуют и другие игроки, в частности, китайский техногигант Huawei, занявший шестое место в рейтинге с долей 4,3% по количеству реализованного серверного оборудования.

Что еще продала Toshiba

За последние несколько лет Toshiba выставила на продажу значительную часть своих активов. В апреле 2017 г. она начала поиск нового владельца своего телевизионного подразделения. Отметим, что этому предшествовала покупка компанией мощности для производства ТВ-приемников в Мексике у Sharp, совершенная в 2015 г.

В июне 2017 г. на торги был выставлен и полупроводниковый бизнес Toshiba. За который она запросила $18 млрд. В качестве покупателя был назван консорциум Pangea, в который входит государственный инвестиционный фонд Innovation Network Corporation of Japan (INCJ), Банк развития Японии (Development Bank of Japan), банк из финансовой группы Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, а также частная инвестиционная компания Bain Capital и южнокорейский производитель чипов памяти SK Hynix.
